Our Support to Fareshare

May 12, 2015

Fareshare are a food supply organisation for the vulnerable and needy. They rescue good food that would otherwise go to waste and deliver it to other charities and community groups to benefit the vulnerable.

The statistics are in for 2014 and Fareshare has received 7,360 tonnes of food that might otherwise have been destined for landfill - which is a number that is up 33% since 2013! In 2014, Fareshare redistributed enough food for 15.3 million meals - supporting 1,923 charities and community projects.

Our partnership with Fareshare sees us support with distribution to their sites around Scotland and so far we have delivered 383 tonnes for them since September 2014, supporting 266 charities and community groups in Scotland. That surplus food was turned into 911,923 meals served to vulnerable people. We are so proud and pleased to be adding benefit to this amazing charity.

If you want to find out how you can support them, visit their website.
